.3/18/2008 11:53:00 AMTime is a major factor in communicating this information.
.3/18/2008 2:10:00 PMHere is another example of a plan that has merit, but lumped together with all of the other changes seems overwhelming. We have had curricular revisions over the last 10 to 12 years with changes almost every year during that period. Just a few years ago we were told to implement the "Just 5 clicks" as a way to assess and remediate students learning in critical area of the curiculum and now we see evidence that this program does not do what we were told to expect. We see students over burdened with assessments and little time to enjoy other learning experiences. Please administrators and school board take a step back and evaluate yourselves and where you really need to go and not be driven by forces that don't seem to take are needs as educators and parents into consideration. Think outside of the box for a change.
.3/18/2008 1:31:00 PMWHY?
.3/18/2008 2:48:00 PMWe have been working very hard on this for awhile now but I would be disappointed if we had to rush what we are doing just to meet a time table. I would rather continue doing what we are doing...moving in the right direction with careful thought and planning. I hope we are not rushed into producing a product that is not what we were shooting for just to meet a "deadline".
.3/18/2008 4:17:00 PMThis is a monster that is creating a lot of division and stress among staff members.
.3/18/2008 4:44:00 PMGets back to more paperwork and if the parents become more involved in their childrens education they will know how they are doing.
.3/19/2008 1:22:00 PMPlease refer to my comments for #3.
.3/19/2008 4:54:00 PMI think that there should be some focus on how much a teacher can do with the time given to them. Just doesn't seem possible to do everything.
.3/19/2008 5:41:00 PMAgain, we need to ease off on this for a while and learn to work with the new things we've implemented. There's too much too fast and none of it is getting done as well as it should. We are being turned into "jacks of all trades, but masters of none." This is especially difficult for those of us who teach in two different course areas.
.3/19/2008 7:20:00 PMOnce again, a little moregood old plain English might make this goal more understandable. I'd comment if I was sure what it meant.
.3/20/2008 3:18:00 AMDo most parents really want a support document Or a few who are more vocal. Many parents that I have talked to say they never read the support lines unless there is a problem. Wouldn't it be easier and cheaper to just include the lines they are having problems with. Before we go throug all this work wouldn't it be better to poll parents and find out how many actually read the entire document. We could save a feew trees.
