.2/22/2008 6:24:00 PMassessment of the delivery of curriculum must be completed
.3/5/2008 3:05:00 AMA comment was made that some students poor grades are a reflection of them not doing homework, or not turning assignments in on time, therefore grades do not reflect their knowledge. This may be true, however in the real world we don't get to decide which parts of our jobs we feel like doing and which we don't, and I feel that teaching kids to be organized, completing homework, and doing things they may not feel like doing is extremely important in the real world. There may be students who have a home life that is unstable and may have to work more hours or have more real-life responsibilites that may interfere with completing homework. I believe that teachers should work with these students individually to come up with a unique grading system, not re-writing the grading process because some smart kids are too lazy to complete assignments on time.
.3/14/2008 8:01:00 AMIt is not natural for children to be self-reflective about their own learning. Nothing is gained by giving them this inclination toward measuring and grading themselves ad nauseum. LESS GRADING, LESS JUDGING, more getting-on-with-it and TRUSTING.
.3/20/2008 9:56:00 PMI support standards-based grading.
.4/16/2008 5:34:00 PMAlso, develop a clear communication system. Why have a student write a rough draft of a paper if they never receive any feedback on it to improve their writing?
