3.3/6/2008 5:00:00 PMI think the report card needs to be revisited. Do the parents really understand it? Do we need everything on it? Also, I think the transition from grade school to middle school grading is tough. They go from getting mostly threes and thinking things are fine in elementary school to Cs in middle school. This needs to be addressed.
4.3/6/2008 5:09:00 PMIn the primary grades, we have been assessing so much that it sometimes is hard to find time to teach. If a skill is introduced we don't need to assess, but check for understanding through informal testing.
